Inspired by Sportswear
Casual cool, comfortable shapes with a feminine twist inspired by sportswear were big on the catwalks, pioneered by the likes of Alexander Wang, Versace, Prabal Gurung, Altuzarra and others. Tennis gear-inspired robe bleu and skirts featured prominently. Other styles embracing the new trend included shorts and trouser suits. Colour schemes were kept minimal with lots of whites and blacks.
The trend is likely to see a major following due to its versatility and overall comfort factor.

A Step Back in Time
Ladies we’re in for a treat. The runways were flooded with floatingly feminine clothing inspired by 1920s fashion, featuring dreamy dropped waists, sequin embellishment and jewelled elements. Sparkling fabrics, sheer lace and even feathers were used to design some of the stunning outfits. Showcased by the likes of Etro, Marc Jacobs, Gucci, Carolina Herrera and more, the trend has already started infiltrating high street retailers, particularly their dress, blouse and skirt sections.
High street retailers to look out for are Topshop and Miss Selfridge, both avid promoters of femininity.
Classic khaki colour blocks and cargo trousers is definitely not how this trend should be interpreted. Instead, think bold tribal and animal world-inspired prints in fabrics not all appropriate to be worn when on safari… The trend could be seen incorporated in dresses, blouses, trousers and even accessories. Hermes, Marni, Michael Korsa and Donna Karan among others were seen showing off products that fit the category.

Ladies Through the Ages
Bold colour hues, textured embellishments and funky patterns revitalised classic feminine shapes like the tight-fitting knee-length dress and cinched coat. Featured most prominently in dresses, the designs accentuated the feminine figure and ensured a high level of sex appeal.The biggest ambassadors for this particular trend were Proenza Schouler, Nina Ricci, Prada and Valentino.
